Federal credits
The federal clean vehicle credits have ended. Under Public Law 119-21, the IRS states the $7,500 new-vehicle credit (§30D), the $4,000 used-vehicle credit (§25E) and the commercial credit used for leases (§45W) are not allowed for any vehicle acquired after September 30, 2025, and the home charger credit (§30C) is not allowed for property placed in service after June 30, 2026. State and utility programs are separate and many are still running.

State programs
Signals are phrases detected on the program’s own page (for example “accepting applications”, “funds exhausted”, “waitlist”). More than one can appear at once — a page often says a round closed and that another opens later — so we list all of them rather than forcing a single verdict. Underneath, where we could find one, we quote a sentence from the page itself, so you can see the wording we read rather than only our label for it. Quoted text is copied verbatim and re-read on every sweep; if a sweep cannot reach the page, the row says so instead of presenting an old quote as current.
Where a program has no page of its own we read the U.S. Department of Energy’s state listing instead. Those rows are labelled state-level listing and report what that listing contains, because a page covering an entire state’s incentives and laws has no single open-or-closed status to report. Not every entry on such a listing is an EV purchase incentive — they also cover biofuel, fleet and idle-reduction programs — so we count the entries that name an EV or charging program separately.

How this page is maintained
A script fetches each official page on a schedule, records the HTTP response, the page title, any status wording it finds, a quoted sentence where the page offers one, and a hash of the text, then writes an entry to an append-only log whenever any of those change. What you see above is that record. It has limits worth knowing: the quoted sentence is chosen by a script, so it is a sample of the page and not a summary of it; detection is based on wording, so a program can change its terms without changing the phrases we look for, and a page that is unreachable is reported as unreachable rather than guessed at. For anything you are about to spend money on, open the official link.
Using this table
Journalists, researchers and writers may quote figures and status descriptions from this page, and reproduce individual rows, with attribution and a link back. Every row has its own anchor, so you can link to a single state directly — for example https://modernwealthtechguide.com/ev-incentive-program-status/#oh-afdc. We would rather be cited accurately than widely: if a row is marked as not re-verified, please say so, and please cite the date rather than implying the figure is current.
